UNEP International Children’s Painting Competition

The International children’s Painting Competition on the Environment has been developed within the framework of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)’s TUNZA programme which is based on a strategy that aims to provide young people with information and tools on how to "treat Mother Earth with care" and how to Act for a better world. To reach its goal, UNEP works in partnership with Children from all over the world.

The competition is organized every year by UNEP, the Japan-based Foundation for Global Peace and Environment (FGPE), Bayer and Nikon Corporation.

It has been held since 1991 and has received more than 3 million entries from children in over 150 countries.

The theme of the 24th painting competition will be “Energy: We have the power!” and children will have until 31 May 2016 to submit their entries.
