Renaud Capuçon, internationally renowned French violinist, was named UNESCO Artist for Peace in September 2020, in light of his commitment to the promotion of artistic and cultural education, and its efforts to spread classical music throughout the world. 
In addition to be an exceptional solo violinist who performs with the world's greatest orchestras, he has founded several music festivals, including the "Rencontres artistiques de Bel-Air" near Chambéry and the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival which welcome the greatest international musicians. 
In his capacity as Artist for Peace, he has agreed to contribute to extending the influence of UNESCO's actions in the field of culture and education, while working for a culture of peace, through the many festivals he has created.
