Michaël SCHUMACHER

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time, Michael Schumacher was appointed UNESCO Champion for Sport in April 2002 in light of his role in the promotion of sport and his contribution to UNESCO’s educational action in favour of young people.
Michael Schumacher is the only driver in history to win seven Formula One World Championships. In addition, he holds the record for the most Grand Prix wins with 91 wins during his career. In 2014, he was awarded the Millennium Trophy at the Bambi Awards in recognition of his outstanding and inspiring career.
In his capacity as a UNESCO Champion for Sport, he supported numerous UNESCO’s programmes and projects in favor of children in Peru, Bosnia Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Senegal and South-East Asia.
