January-February Discussions on the Futures of Education in Latin America

UNESCO’s landmark Report Reimagining our futures together: a new social contract for education launched in November 2021 calls for a broad social dialogue, including teachers, educators, students, parents, experts and thought leaders from all over Latin America to discuss the future-looking ideas of this Report and their implementation in the region. To advance this purpose, Elisa Guerra, a member of the International Commission, will be hosting a series of 5 conversations on the key areas developed in the Futures of Education Report.

Save the dates – Each of the 5 virtual Spanish-language conversations will take place at 17.00 CST (UTC-6, México) on the following dates:

  • Thursday, January 13th

  • Tuesday, January 18th

  • Thursday, January 27th

  • Thursday, February 3rd

  • Thursday, February 10th

The first conversation, which took place on January 13th, dealt with the following sections of the Report:

  • Introduction: redefining the purposes of education

  • Chapter 1: towards more equitable educational futures

  • Chapter 2: disruptions and emerging transformations

The second conversation, which will take place on January 18th, will focus on:

  • Chapter 3: Pedagogies of cooperation and solidarity

  • Chapter 4: Curricula and the evolving knowledge commons
