UNESCO supports Member States in tackling the pandemic in all its action for education, sciences, culture and knowledge sharing.
Freedom of expression, access to information, and quality news coverage are essential to face the coronavirus pandemic
The UNESCO Liaison Office in New York (NYO) was established in order to liaise UNESCO with the United Nations Governing Bodies, the UN Secretariat and the UN Specialized Agencies funds and programmes based in New York.
The NYO secures a place for UNESCO in the intergovernmental platform at the United Nations in New York, with quality and timely information based on a track record of both normative and field-based operational activities. The Office facilitates the channelling of current and relevant information on UNESCO’s strategic objectives to the UN Secretariat, funds and programmes, permanent missions at the UN and civil society.
