Webinar: Caribbean Water and Climate Change
The Caribbean region is one of the most affected by climate changes and extreme hydrometeorological phenomena, such as hurricanes, storms, floods, droughts, and heat waves. Many Caribbean countries are currently experiencing complex water security challenges, including water scarcity, pollution, watershed degradation, saline intrusion, and flooding. All these factors have a negative impact on the water security of the Caribbean States.
This seminar, co-organized by the Intergovernmental Hydrological Program for Latin America and the Caribbean (IHP-LAC) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), seeks to present some of the hydrological challenges that Caribbean States face in terms of Climate Change and the actions that are being carried out to strengthen water security.
