E-course: Hydrological Forest Restoration of Watersheds and Aquifer Recharge
Increased soil erosion, decreased infiltration and groundwater recharge, increased flooding, reduced water availability for communities, decreased biodiversity and productivity create a growing need for capacities to promote the management and recovery of degraded and overused ecosystems.
This course, organised by the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme of UNESCO in Latin America and the Caribbean, through its working group "Hydrology of Forest Systems", together with the UNESCO Chair in Surface Hydrology of the University of Talca, Chile, seeks to strengthen the professional capacities of specialists working in the public and private sectors of the region in planning and technical action in the territory, in order to restore situations of degradation of water, land and ecosystems in general.
