70 years of UNESCO's presence in Latin America and the Caribbean: assessing the past and building proposals for the future
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the installation of the UNESCO Regional Office of Science for Latin America and the Caribbean - UNESCO Office Montevideo, the Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay (through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Culture) and the UNESCO Montevideo Office invite you to the “Regional Meeting: 70 years of UNESCO's presence in Latin America and the Caribbean: assessing the past and building proposals for the future”.
This Meeting will convene representatives of UNESCO Member States (authorities and parliamentarians), UNESCO Chairs and Centers, academia, private partners and civil society partners who have worked with UNESCO in the region, to discuss and identify new areas of intervention for the next decades in line with the priorities of the 2030 Agenda. Four plenary sessions will be complemented with thematic sessions, to discuss the topics as follows: Democratic governance and justice, Leadership of the future, Right to science and access to knowledge and Socio-environmental resilience.
