Comprometidos 2020
Comprometidos is an initiative that seeks to engage young agents of change from Latin America and the Caribbean with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
During 2020, we have experienced an unprecedented global sanitarycrisis and emergency, and young people are particularly affected by the social and economic consequences of this pandemic. The young agents of change at Comprometidos faced challenges of all kinds: cuts in funding, inability to carry out their project due to mobility restrictions, lack of resources, some even had to finish their projects.
In this context, it is essential to continue supporting our young agents of change .
That means strengthening efforts in working with and for youth. Comprometidos comes as a great space for boosting these transformative initiatives led by youth that we need at times like the one we are living”, highlighted Lidia Brito, Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau of Science for Latin America and the Caribbean, the past 5 of August.
Comprometidos 2020 consisted of a 3-month virtual academy where 100 young people from 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, who had already participated in Comprometidos, were part of an exclusive virtual community where they could connect with each other, bond with peers and strengthen this young changemakers community. 12 webinars on topics defined jointly with the young, were imparted aimed at strengthening their projects and their personal development as agents of change. Throughout the three months they received individual mentoring from senior Nestlé executives in Latin America.
The Comprometidos 2020 virtual academy had its closure at the “Diálogos Comprometidos” event, framed in the Ashoka Global Changemaker Summit, where 12 young people represented the Comprometidos community and presented their projects. Here you can see the full video of Diálogos Comprometidos
