Conference "What is the place of jazz and improvised music within contemporary music in the Maghreb?”

Within the framework of the celebration of the International Jazz Day and the project “Music for sustainable development in Morocco and Tunisia”, the UNESCO Maghreb Office, Anya-Music for All and the Hiba Foundation will organize, on 30 April 2021, from 3.00 to 5.00 p.m. (UTC), an online conference entitled “What is the place of jazz and improvised music within contemporary music in the Maghreb?”. This conference will bring together artists and festival directors from Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia in order to discuss this question.

Launching of the Trash Hack Campaign: Education for Sustainable Development with IberoMAB Youth

Launching of the Trash Hack Campaign: Education for Sustainable Development with IberoMAB Youth in the framework of CILAC, aims to bring together various actions carried out in the Biosphere Reserves of the IberoMAB Network in relation to environmental education and waste management. The Trash Hack Campaign promoted by UNESCO invites the citizens worldwide to take action and promote initiatives to reduce plastic consumption and promote its recycling, in order to prevent soil and water pollution.  In the framework of this initiative, several actions will be carried out in Biosphere Reserves where MAB youth are key actors and promoters. This launching will present some of the waste management projects being carried out in the Biosphere Reserves and the main actions of Trash Hack in the Bañados del Este Biosphere Reserve, Rocha, Uruguay.

Biennale of Luanda - "Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace"

This year 2021, the second edition of the "Biennale of Luanda -Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace", jointly organized by UNESCO, the African Union (AU) and the Government of the Republic of Angola, will be held in Luanda, Angola, from 4 to 8 October in a hybrid format which will be broadcast live from Luanda to the whole world, merging digital and physical events.
