UNESCO in Brazil and the State Secretariat of Health in Rio Grande do Sul carry out a technical cooperation project aimed at strengthening preventive education in the struggle against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and AIDS in the state.
The priority of this project is adolescents and young people. The action supports the state government in the development of innovative social technologies for HIV education and prevention, as well as communication strategies to encourage safer behaviours regarding sexuality.
UNESCO makes available consultants specialized in the subject. Coordinated work is also done with professionals working in the area of education and health in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. This partnership has a duration of four years.
