Strengthening education policy, planning and monitoring to provide equitable and quality lifelong-learning in Central Asia

Project name :

Strengthening education policy, planning and monitoring to provide equitable and quality lifelong-learning in Central Asia

Project duration :

19-12-2019

Central Asian countries have been behind other countries in the Asia-Pacific region to implement SDG4. Central Asian countries have also not ratified a number of legal frameworks on right to education. Some other challenges in the achievement of SDG4 are related to the low quality of technical and vocational education and limited option available for non-formal education, ICT in education and education for sustainable development (ESD). In response to this need, UNESCO Almaty will provide Member States with policy advice, technical and capacity building support in preparing evidence-based education strategies and plans, and conducting quality monitoring with a SDG4 perspective, while focusing on TVET, non-formal education, ICT in education and ESD, especially for girls and women.
