H.E. LEE Byong-hyun, the Chairperson of the Executive Board, H.E. Zohour Alaoui, President of the General Conference and Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, accompanied by a delegation of ambassadors representing UNESCO's Member States, handed a solemn declaration from the Organization's Executive Board to the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée Palace.

On 26 October 2018, H.E. Mr. LEE Byong-hyun, visited the UNESCO Beijing office - his first visit to a UNESCO field office as Chairperson of the Executive Board. On this occasion, he encouraged the colleagues of Beijing Office to continue their good work, throughout the countries under its cluster and across the different programme sectors. He also discussed the development of the peace process in the Korean Peninsula and stressed the important role of UNESCO Beijing Office, reinforcing cooperation in the area of Culture, Education and Science.

H. E. Mr LEE Byong-hyun, Chairperson of the Executive Board, delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Changsha Media Arts Festival and second International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads (Changsa, China). On this occasion, the designation of Changsa city as a media arts city of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network was also celebrated.
