Youth Mobilization Campaign for a Culture of Peace in Burundi
This campaign aims to promote a culture of peace among young people, allowing them to invest in consolidating peace in Burundi. UNESCO House of Peace participates in the Steering Committee and provides budgetary support to the Youth Network in Action for Peace, Reconciliation and Development (REJA). The organization ensures the lead as a member of the Pan-African Youth Network for a Culture of Peace (PAYNCoP).
UNESCO organizes this campaign in partnership with the Youth Network in Action for Peace, Reconciliation and Development (REJA). It is an extension of another campaign launched in Gabon (Libreville) on 9 July 2016 under the PAYNCoP initiative and in Luena-Angola in December 2016.
Activities of the campaign include production and broadcasting of spots, participation in radio broadcasts, production of a song about the culture of peace, a walk and a race for peace, etc.
Youth will be sensitized in partnership with the media on spreading values of tolerance and mutual acceptance of their differences. Burundi's young rising talents and athletes will also be capitalized in strengthening the culture of peace.
