The meeting is being held during the development of the ERCE study. Its main objective is to monitor the laboratory’s plan in order to make strategic decisions in the operational implementation of the ERCE pilot study, which will be carried out during 2018. Participants also will review all of the recommendations made prior to the event by the High-Level Technical Advisory Board (CTAN).

One of the main objectives of projects like the Fourth Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE) developed by the Latin American Laboratory for the Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE) is to produce valid and reliable information that allows student performance to be assessed, compared and explained.

With this goal in mind, the meeting is being held during the development of the ERCE study. Its main objective is to monitor the laboratory’s plan in order to make strategic decisions in the operational implementation of the ERCE pilot study, which will be carried out during 2018. Participants also will review all of the recommendations made prior to the event by the High-Level Technical Advisory Board (CTAN).

The event will be attended by UNESCO assessment specialists, the national coordinators of the 19 countries that form part of the laboratory, representatives of Mexico’s Public Education Secretariat, the National Institute for Educational Evaluation (INEE) and researchers from the MIDE-UC Measurement Center and INEE as well as the members who are implementing the ERCE study.

The event also will include representatives of various international agencies that are LLECE technical and financial partners in the context of the development of the ERCE study.
