Workshop Support for quality management in basic education
The programme launch workshop will bring together some 60 experts from national delegations and development partners.
Improving the quality of learning is one of the key priorities of comprehensive education policies. On the African continent, too many children do not attain a level of knowledge commensurate with their level of education.
To solve this challenge, the IIEP-Pôle de Dakar is launching, with the support of the French Development Agency, a new support: capacity building for quality management in basic education. The objective of the programme is to change working practices within educational institutions in order to improve the quality of education. Tools with a direct impact on school management and learning will be put in place with the coordination of actors at all levels of the basic education system.
Six countries are directly involved in the programme: Burkina Faso, Côte d' Ivoire, Madagascar, Niger, Senegal, Togo. Other countries on the continent with shared French will form a wider circle of knowledge dissemination. Support is scheduled for four years, from 2018 to 2021.
