In the context of UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme, an introductory workshop on youth foresight entitled “Laboratories of the New World (Nw&Labs) / Young People Imagine Libreville, a Pacific and Sustainable City, To The Horizon 2050” will take place in Libreville, Gabon, from 9 to 13 December 2019.
This workshop is part of the implementation of the research project “Imagining Africa's Futures” (IAF), aiming to carry out in Africa pilot experiments, prototyping tests of “Futures Literacy Laboratories” (FLL), as a tool for the development of public policies.
This UNESCO’s initiative is a response to Priority 1 of the United Nations Youth Strategy (2018) and the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 11.
By “Futures Literacy Laboratories” (FLL), UNESCO intends an innovative research-action methodology that allows people to discover and implement their own ability to use the future for different reasons and in different ways.
