The overall objective of this meeting will be to take stock work in contextualizing the ‘Learning for All: Guidelines on the Inclusion of Learners with Disabilities in Open and Distance Learning’ to date and propose actions for its enhancement.
Specifically the meeting will examine key issues related to the technical annexes and the development of the policy documents.
The expected output of this meeting will be to:
- Identify lessons learnt and best practices related to the contextualization of the ‘Guidelines on the Inclusion of Learners with Disabilities in Open and Distance Learning’ with a view to its enhancement;
- Establish a network of institutions active supporting access to quality learning opportunities for persons with disabilities harnessing open solutions.
This meeting is in line with the UNESCO’s objective to promote universal access to information through open and inclusive solutions and innovative use of ICTs for sustainable development (Major Programme V, Communication and Information, MLA2, Expected Result 5) agreed upon at the 39th Session of its General Conference in November 2017.
