The workshop aims at equipping participants with knowledge and skills on the evolving frameworks and standards that community radio stations can use to review their performance at their respective local communities in East Africa.
16 community radio stations (8 from Kenya, 4 from Rwanda and 4 from Uganda) will participate in this event.
This workshop is part of UNESCO’s ongoing SIDA funded project themed: “Empowering Local Radios with ICTs” (2015-2017) that aims at building capacities of radio practitioners in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. It is also organized within the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) framework that promotes media development by providing support for media projects and also seeking an accord to secure a healthy environment for the growth of free and pluralistic media in developing countries.
