The purpose of the training is to raise awareness among media professionals on the importance of media diversity and diversity in the media. It aims to identify the gaps and demonstrate media’s role as a promoter of the diversity of cultural expressions, while equipping participants with the tools to advocate for the promotion of diverse cultural expressions through their work.
Create|2030 Seychelles Talk will discuss policy initiatives and measures taken or needed to support Diversity of Media and Diversity of content in the Media in Seychelles. The talk will be preceded by a public presentation of the findings and recommendations of the UNESCO 2018 Global Report: ReShaping Cultural Policies. Three key stakeholders from the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, the Ministry of Youth Sports & Culture and the Seychelles National Information Services Agency will then be invited to give their views on issues affecting media diversity in Seychelles. This discussion will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Radio and television stations as well as social media agencies will be invited to give live coverage of the Create|2030 Seychelles Talk.
