UNESCO Workshop for the adoption of a Work Plan for Culture for Latin America and the Caribbean 2016-2021
The UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba and the Cuban National Commission for UNESCO will organize a regional workshop on the morning of 18 September to discuss and validate a UNESCO Regional Work Plan for Culture (2016-2021). The Plan will aim at contributing to achieve the new Sustainable Development Goals which will be adopted by the UN General Assembly later that month.
The Workshop will take place in the context of the Third Meeting of Ministers of Culture of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which will be held on 18 and 19 September 2015 in Havana, Cuba. The Ministers in charge of Culture of the 33 Member States of Latin America and the Caribbean have been invited. A UNESCO delegation headed by its Director-General, Irina Bokova, will also participate.
