UNESCO's Second High Level Forum on Museums: Innovation and Inclusiveness
The High Level Forum on Museums serves as an advisory body to the DG on museums and cultural heritage-related issues, and promotes the implementation of the 2015 UNESCO Global Recommandation on Museums. The Second meeting of the High Level Forum which will be held from 25 to 27 April 2018 ans will focus on the themes of innovation and inclusion, also promoted by the Recommendation.
The Second High Level Forum on Museums serves as a platform for experts in the museum and cultural heritage field to gather and discuss new and relevant issues in the museum realm. The High Level Forum aims to be a laboratory of ideas to generate innovative approaches and policy advice, which will reinforce the role of museums as drivers for intercultural understanding and sustainable development. The two main topics the Second High Level Forum will focus on are innovation and inclusion. Both of these concepts are promoted by the 2015 UNESCO Recommendation. The Forum will comprise 8 sessions tackling aspects of either innovation or inclusion. Around 60 museum directors, experts, academia, professionals and high level politicians will be participating in the Forum.
