The objective of this session is to highlight how global reporting on SDG Target 16.10 is central for mainstreaming of access to information and safety of journalists as catalysts for improving governance and human rights issues that underpin peaceful, just, and inclusive societies. By reporting on these indicators, Member States from the African Union can aspire to “Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law” of the Africa We Want 2063.
