The meeting falls within the framework of UNESCOs CFIT Uganda Project that aims at improving quality of education through integration of ICT as a pedagogical tool in addressing the teaching and learning.
Participants to attend the meeting will be drawn from Ministry of Education and three key Teacher Training Institutions (TTIs) namely; Kyambogo University, Nakawa Vocational Training Institute, and Shimoni Core Primary Teacher College
The UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT) provides a framework for capacity building in ICT integration in teaching and learning. It covers 6 areas: Understanding ICT in Education, Curriculum and assessment, Pedagogy, ICT, Organization and administration, Teacher professional learning. Each area has 3 levels: Technology literacy, Knowledge deepening, Knowledge creation. The CICT-CFTU is the result of the collaboration of UNESCO-IICBA, UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa, and the educational professionals in Uganda.
