Riel Miller,

This special pre-publication event will showcase UNESCO’s innovative Futures Literacy initiatives implemented in collaboration with partners on the ground in Brazil, Finland, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Uruguay, and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. Introduced by their Ambassador, the presenters will tell the story of how they are changing the way the future is used in their country and around the world.

This event will provide an opportunity to hear firsthand how on-the-ground Futures Literacy work changes the way people use the future and opens up new avenues for fostering peace, inclusion and sustainability.

The presenters will tell the story of how their collaboration with UNESCO demonstrates both the effectiveness of UNESCO’s innovative Futures Literacy Laboratories and why it is important to change the way people use the future.

This event offers tangible evidence of how Member States benefit from UNESCO’s leadership in the field of foresight and the work of the Social and Human Sciences Sector through the Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme. UNESCO’s championing of Futures Literacy shows how inter-sectoral and field based collaborations generate meaningful change on-the-ground.
