Training Workshop for Policy Makers on Electronic Monitoring Tool for Inclusive Education in Uganda
UNESCO in cooperation with National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) is organizing a 2-day training for on electronic policy monitoring tool for inclusive education in Kampala, Uganda. This event will aim at sensitizing participants about the importance of the electronic policy-monitoring tool in creating an enabling environment and increasing access to quality and accessible ICTs, assistive technologies and information, and inclusive educational services for PwDs in Uganda.
During the training, participants will be taken through; Assistive ICTs used by Persons with Disabilities; Electronic policy monitoring tool; how to create accessible information materials in different formats, text (word & pdf), visual (image & video) formats; and how the electronic policy-monitoring tool works, and how to use it to contribute towards populating.
UNESCO and UNICEF in close cooperation with local and national organizations have been implementing a UN Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRP) that seeks to establish an enabling environment and increase institutional capacities for greater access to quality and accessible information and communications technologies, assistive technologies and information and inclusive educational services for persons with disabilities.
The training will attract 120 policy makers drawn from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), DPOs, CSOs and academia in Uganda.
This activity is organized within the framework of UNESCO’s Main Line of Actions to enable universal access and preservation of information and knowledge and the expected result to promote Open Solutions for Knowledge Societies.
