Training of community radio journalists on women empowerment
UNESCO is Supporting Mwanedu FM to carry out a capacity building training for community radio journalists on women empowerment at Mwanedu FM, Voi, Kenya. Mwanedu Fm journalists will be trained to write and report on issues affecting women and how to advocate for their rights and interests.
The participants will gain skills and required capacities for them to report issues that address and targets empowerment of women for improved livelihoods.
Through radio, rural women will be educated on economic empowerment through access to loans, savings, how banks lend, collaterals and how to access public funds.
This activity is part of UNESCO’s on-going capacity building initiative of “Empowering Local Radio with ICTs" in the region.
