Training of Community Radio Journalists in Kenya on Cross border Trade
UNESCO is supporting the radio station Mwanedu FM to carry out a capacity building training for community radio journalists on Cross border Trade in Voi, Kenya. This training aims to empower journalists with skills on trade and business. This is out of the need to understand operations of cross border trade and how women can engage themselves in this important economic venture. The radio programs to follow will look at hurdles that deny women participation in improvement of their economic status and how to overcome the same.
This event will add great value to journalists to be able to develop programs on behavioural change as the station also has audience in Moshi and Arusha in neighbouring Tanzania.
This activity is part of UNESCO’s on-going capacity building initiative of Empowering Local Radio with ICTs" in the region.
