m.doria@unesco.orgThe Workshop “Strengthening Water Education at the School level”, organized by UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme (UNESCO-IHP) will take place in the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe. Its goal is to strengthen water education for sustainable development in PALOP (Portuguese Speaking African Countries); i.e. Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Principe).
It will also provide an opportunity to prepare collaborative projects on water training with the participation of water-related centres under the auspices of UNESCO, namely HIDROEX and ICCE, in collaboration with PALOP countries.
This is a follow up to the project initiated in Praia, Cabo Verde, in May 2012. The specific objectives of the workshop are:
(1) To review the first draft of the manual for training for trainers on water,
(2) to adopt a procedure for finalization and validation of the Manual, and
(3) to adopt the procedure for the training activities.
The workshop is conducted in collaboration with the National Commission of UNESCO of São Tomé and Principe and count with the support of the National Commission of UNESCO of Cape Verde.
