Strategic Transformation dialogues continue with transversal themes and global priorities
The Permanent Delegations to UNESCO will continue the joint reflections on transversal themes and global priorities of Africa and gender equality within the framework of UNESCO’s Strategic Transformation on 7 October 2019. The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Room Xl.
The dialogues on transversal themes and global priorities is a follow up of the first series of meetings with Member States on the future orientations of UNESCO’s programme, which took place in July 2019. These events provided an opportunity to Member States to engage in a reflection on major trends, opportunities and challenges that are likely to have an impact on the Organization's work and future programmes in its fields of competence, and to drive UNESCO’s future strategy for the years ahead.
The meeting aims at building on the views discussed in July, finding new forward-looking ideas and examples on transversal and interdisciplinary issues, providing feedback on current global priorities, and discussing global priorities to address complex and multidimensional sustainable development challenges.
