On the 29th of August 2014, the Government of Samoa will organise an event “Safeguarding the Shared Heritage in Samoa” at the Old Courthouse in Apia in cooperation with the German and New Zealand authorities and UNESCO. This event is dedicated to commemorate the recent inscription of the “Archives of the German-Samoa administration 1900 – 1914” in the Asia-Pacific Memory of the World Register.
The Apia Court House Trust will join this celebration by presenting its project with the aims of turning the Old Courthouse in Apia into a living heritage. The Old Courthouse is a historic building over 100 years old, and it was a former seat of the German and New Zealand administrations as well as the Samoan government.
A photo-exhibition featuring the history of the Old Apia Courthouse will also be organised in cooperation with the Museum of Samoa.
