With the theme “Improving Quality of Education through Quality Teachers: Sharing effective practices towards the Post 2015 Agenda”, the conference will be a platform for governments, researchers, civil society to discuss issues, challenges and priorities concerning teachers for post-2015 agenda as well as share their effective practices on how they have addressed their respective issues.

The Conference will also draw on recommendations from the international framework for action for education for post-2015 discussed and approved at the World Education Forum in Incheon, Republic of Korea, in order to develop national and regional strategies which will be articulated in a regional plan of action.

The Conference is organized by UNESCO (Regional Office for Southern Africa, Maputo Office and Section on Learning and Teachers, the International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa) in partnership with the government of Mozambique and in cooperation with the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
