A day to recall the history of the construction of UNESCO Headquarters, UNESCO House, opened in 1958. Known around the world, this architectural complex has become a manifesto of the theories of the modern movement. Nearby the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars, in the heart of historic Paris, the building symbolizes the mission and mandate of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

This event, propose and chaired by Daniel Janicot, President of the French National Commission for UNESCO and Philippe Bélaval, Chairman of the Centre des monuments nationaux, placed under the direction of Christine Desmoulins, architecture critic and specialist of Bernard Zerhfuss, is organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the French National Commission for UNESCO and the forthcoming publication of the book " UNESCO Headquarters", Éditions du patrimoine.
