Second Training on Underwater Archaeology for African Countries
Two-week underwater archaeology training course in Turkey for capacity building of African participants.
Acknowledging the lack of trained underwater archaeologists and heritage experts in many African countries, this twelve-day intensive training will teach participants the core principles of underwater cultural heritage management, research and conservation. The objective is to train African specialists and to stimulate effective collaboration and cooperation in the region.
The training will consist of theoretical lectures and practical courses. Participants will work up to a maximum water depth of 30 meters. Instructions will be provided in English, by specialists from the UniTwin Network Member Universities and UNESCO.
