Scientific journalism on COVID-19 time

The role that science journalism plays in covering the pandemic is decisive in promoting and defending access to sensitive, qualified and timely public information. Today more than ever, just as science is urgently challenged by reality, so is science journalism.
The challenges of the community of scientific journalists to stay healthy, achieving good journalistic standards, defending freedom of expression and access to public information are enormous.

Within the framework of these celebrations in the region, the UNESCO Regional Science Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, among other activities, will organize a Webinar to address the following issues:
1. How are science news being covered in the pandemic?
2. What are the guidelines that must be followed to do good science journalism?
3. What difficulties are journalists facing these days to cover the pandemic?
