Matteo Rosati at m.rosati@unesco.orgIn recognition of the importance of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage (2001), the Government of Croatia and UNESCO are organizing a regional meeting on the implementation and ratification of the Convention in the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology - ICUA.
The meeting will focus on fostering cooperation on the protection and promotion of underwater cultural heritage in South-East Europe. Issues addressed will range from cooperation in research and protection to responsible public heritage access and awareness.
Representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Turkey have been invited to take part.
