Presentation of the UNESCO's publication “Applied Art of Uzbekistan: Traditions and Innovations”

Publication “Applied Art of Uzbekistan: Traditions and Innovations” developed within the project “Creative industries development for the diversity of cultural expressions - strengthening the sustainability of crafts industry in Uzbekistan”. It is based on the field research conducted by Academician Akbar Khakimov and demonstrates the experience and good practices of leading craftsmen of Uzbekistan who preserve traditional arts and adapt traditions to the present-day environment. Moreover, this publication provides an unprecedented insight into the work of the current Uzbek craftsmen applying new skills, techniques and design to traditional handicraft. Publication is in the Russian and English languages.
