This event will be an opportunity to present an in-preview of an intercultural film realized by the Angolan Dom Pedro. This film highlights, beyond his native land of the Rio de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay), the contribution of African cultures in the creation of the tango. It thus contributes to give to this intangible cultural heritage all its multiple dimensions. It is supported by the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Angola.
Through the voice of one of the most important figures of contemporary tango (the Argentine pianist Juan Carlos Caceres), the Director Dom Pedro reveals the depth of the footprints in the African music, through this rich movie combining musical performances and interviews from many tango fans between Latin America and Europe.

The screening will be followed by an exchange between the audience, the director and the pianist. Dom Pedro and Juan Carlos Caceres will answer the questions from the audience. This exchange will be primarily directed towards:
1) the reasons for the invisibility of the African roots of tango, and
2) the depth of the links that are forged between Africa and Latin America through the history of the slave trade and slavery.
