Petrykivka painting: the color of a tradition

This interactive art exhibition will comprise master classes of painting, offered by renowned masters of Petrykivka decorative art. They will initiate guests to this unique form of intangible traditional practices of Ukrainian culture.
The famous Petrykivka patterns will be displayed in the course of an associated art presentation. Art critics will accompany the public to explain the succession of generations and dynasties who created this integral art phenomenon. Development of decorative painting in dynamics will be shown through family traditions, helping to preserve its uniqueness and add new creative elements and techniques, promoting the vitality of Petrykivka painting. The exposition will comprise decorative panels (paintings), painted wooden utensils, decorative vases, plates, trunks and boxes, stylized everyday articles.
