Ocean acidification and other climate stressors or impacts on the ocean – where we are heading, and what we need to stop it

When, local time:
Monday, 7 December 2015 -
11:45am to 1:15pm
France, Paris - Le Bourget
Type of Event:
Специальное мероприятие

[Organized by IUCN]

The event will highlight the latest science which emerged after the latest IPCC AR5 report on the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on the oceans, including ocean acidification, ocean warming and deoxygenation.
The panelists and experts will explore the practical actions needed to keep pace with such changes alongside emission cuts, and what scientific advancements are still needed for informed and comprehensive decision-making, from policy to practice.

This event will also emphasize that ocean acidification would occur even if warming wasn’t so severe, and discuss the need to develop additional climate indicators – beyond the current temperature indicator – and targets to ensure a comprehensive response of all greenhouse gas related impacts on the world, including our ocean.
