Nepal: International Mission for promoting Freedom of Expression and the Safety of Journalists
UNESCO Kathmandu Office with the Federation of Nepali Journalists and Nepal International Media Partnership is organizing a series of international mission in Nepal from 19 to 23 April 2015 to promote Freedom of Expression and the Safety of Journalists.
The mission team is made up of representatives of International Media Support, Open Society Foundations, UNESCO, Committee to Protect Journalists, Independent consultants, Centre for Law and Democracy and Article 19. The team will meet with Nepali journalists, media owners, government and concerned personalities/organization to hold discussions on Journosafe in Nepal and UN Action Plan and the safety mechanism. Meetings with political parties will be organized to discuss on free expression.
This activity is taking place within the framework of the UNESCO/UNPFN Project 'Increasing the Safety of Journalists'.
