National consultation workshop on strengthening the inclusive Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) system in Uzbekistan

Within the framework of the UNESCO-Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) project on the Strengthening Inclusive STI system in Uzbekistan, UNESCO, with support of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), cooperates and provides technical assistance to the Government of Uzbekistan, in reviewing and strengthening the national STI system. One of the main objectives of the project is to raise national awareness concerning the central role of STI in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a follow-up to this work, a one day National Workshop on STI Policy is planned to be held on 18 February 2020, followed by a half day working session with a national team designated to follow-up on the project activities. The workshop will discuss the dynamics of the STI System as well as the challenges and opportunities in accelerating STI-driven development in Uzbekistan.

The workshop will be organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Innovative Development and will be attended by representatives from the relevant ministries, government entities, research institutions, development partners and international organizations and other national stakeholders in the field of STI.
