Mobilizing UNESCO Science Chairs for policy action towards the 2030 Agenda

This conference will bring together the UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks focused on natural sciences for the 1st time. It aims to build synergies and cooperation among the Chairs, UNESCO and the United Nations system to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

During the conference, SC-Chairs will determine the ways and means of establishing an exchange and dialogue platform as well as produce a final document outlining avenues for reinforced cooperation for a stronger contribution of STI in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

The Conference is organised whithin the framework of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Today there are more than 700 UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks worldwide, including more than 170 focusing on natural sciences.
