Mitigating climate change with employment, training and economic development stakeholders
Advancing knowledge of the policy implications of greening skills and jobs for sustainable development.
The aim of this panel discussion is to bring to the attention of negotiators and national experts the importance of mobilizing employment, education, vocational training and economic development’s stakeholders, in order to adapt jobs and skills and thereby facilitate the implementation of the international and national objectives in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Even though a greater level of awareness, more studies and higher levels of implementation have been observed over the past years among the various concerned stakeholders, including international and national organizations, trade unions, universities, enterprises, etc., a greater mobilization is still needed and called for at these various complementary levels:
1/ strategy and policy;
2/ programs (sectorial and territorial);
3/ on-the-ground projects.
