Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Calle 21 y O, Vedado, Plaza,, Havana, CubaThe 41st Meeting of National Coordinators of the Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education (LLECE), is part of the technical programming around the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE 2019) that will be applied in the 18 participating countries as of May of 2019. The study is under the coordination of the Regional Office of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago).
The ERCE 2019 will produce valid and reliable information that will allow evaluating the performance of students in the region. It includes evidence of learning achievements and questionnaires of associated factors, data that will help explain the circumstances that most affect the achievements of children in the region.
On this occasion, the meeting has been planned in conjunction with the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences (ICCP) of Cuba, where the national coordination of LLECE is located in that country. The national coordinators of the countries participating in the Laboratory will receive information on the instruments that will make up the main study of ERCE 2019 as well as the work plan that will guide the operational implementation of the study.
Decisions are expected from this meeting that will delimit the actions of the implementing partners, the Technical Coordination of LLECE and the technical financial partners of the study. Also, a seminar will be held on March 27 that will deal with curriculum and evaluation, which will present the main findings of the curricular analysis study that will be published soon by UNESCO.
