Meeting of the Jury of the UNESCO–Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences
The International Jury of the UNESCO–Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences 2015 will meet at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 21 and 22 September 2015.
The Jury will consider nominations submitted by UNESCO Member States and non-governmental organizations in official partnership with UNESCO.
The Jury will submit its recommendations to the Director-General who will nominate the laureates.
The name of the prizewinner and the date and place of the award ceremony will be officially announced in a UNESCO press release. In 2015, the Prize will be awarded for the third time.
The purpose of this Prize is to reward the projects and activities of an individual, individuals, institutions, other entities or non-governmental organizations for scientific research in the life sciences leading to improving the quality of human life.
The Prize consists of a diploma, a statuette “Integracion Tribal” of the Equatorial Guinean artist Leandro Mbomio and the sum of $300,000 divided among a maximum of three laureates, each of which is considered to merit a prize.
