Meeting of Experts on the National Strategy for Cuban Underwater Cultural Heritage
The core objective of the meeting is to discuss and adopt Cuba’s national strategy within the framework of Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH). The meeting will be inaugurated by Gladys Collazo Usallán, president of the National Cultural Heritage Council of the Republic of Cuba. The main themes to be discussed are Antecedents and Diagnosis: Assessment of the Cuban underwater cultural heritage situation; Policy; and Action plan.
The meeting participants will be specialists and senior officials from the following institutions: National Cultural Heritage Council of the Republic of Cuba (CNPC), Regional Centre for the Use and Management of Underwater Cultural and Natural Heritage, Maritime Services Company SERMAR S.A., Office of the City of the Historian of Havana (OCH), Cuban Institute of Anthropology (ICAN), Fundación Antonio Núñez Jiménez de la Naturaleza y el Hombre, National Registry of Cultural Property (RNBC), Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA) and Luis Montané Dardé Museum of Anthropology. In addition, representatives from other national entities related to this theme will be invited to attend.
