Meeting of the Approval Committee of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport
The Approval Committee of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport convenes twice annually to determine new applications. The next meeting will take place at UNESCO Headquarters on 26 May 2017.
During the meeting, Committee members will review new anti-doping applications. Moreover, the session’s agenda will include preparations for the Sixth Session of the Conference of Parties to the Anti-Doping Convention (UNESCO Headquarters, 25-26 September 2017).
The Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport, set forth in Article 17 of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, aims to help States Parties to meet their obligations under the Convention, by providing financial support to anti-doping initiatives in the areas of education, policy advice, and capacity-building.
The Approval Committee for the 2016-2017 biennium comprises six States Parties representatives (Bahamas, China, Finland, Oman, the Russian Federation and South Africa) and an observer from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
