The Approval Committee is in charge of the allocation of the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.
The session will open with the election of the Committee’s Chairperson. The Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport was set forth in Article 17 of the International Convention against Doping in Sport.
The primary purpose of the Fund, established in 2008, is to assist all States Parties with the development and implementation of anti-doping projects consistent with the Convention. Supporting anti-doping capacity around the world, the Fund can help finance projects in the areas of: (1) education; (2) policy advice; and (3) capacity development.
The Committee comprises Six States Parties representatives: Finland, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, the Russian Federation and Zambia; and a representative of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
