Lifeline Communication training in Kenya
BBC Media Action will partner with UNESCO to carry out lifeline communication training for 15 community radio practitioners and 15 participants from the humanitarian sector. This event which will take place in Kisumu County, Kenya, aims at strengthening the skills of media and humanitarian responders to work jointly to meet the communications needs affected communities.
Communities affected by disasters need practical information to cope, survive and recover thus media and humanitarian organizations must be prepared in order to be effective in this area.
This activity is part of UNESCO’s ongoing capacity-building initiatives under SIDA project themed “Empowering Community Radio’s with ICTs” in the region.
